BioIncubatech, the USC's High Technology Incubator, will discuss the latest trends in biotechnology and opportunities for internationalisation and attracting private funding.

BioGalicia Summit, the international summit of the biotech sector, will bring together the entire biotech ecosystem on 3 March in Santiago, online and free of charge, to discuss the latest trends applied to health and agri-food. The event is part of the activities of BioIncubaTech, the high-tech incubator managed by the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago de Compostela and Uninova and the support of the Xunta de Galicia and the INCYDE Foundation.

The BioGalicia Summit will serve to address the opportunities for internationalisation of the biotechnology sector, to learn about the most effective means and tools for attracting private funding, as well as to learn in detail about the Next Generation funds applied to the field of health sciences and agri-food and the role of SMEs in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan promoted by the central government, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Public Function of the Government of Spain and the Xunta de Galicia through the Igape.

The event and presentations will be held on 3 March in morning and afternoon sessions, and attendees will be able to arrange one-to-one meetings from 2 to 4 March 2022. These networking meetings will serve to bring together actors in the biotechnology field to channel research towards the market and companies, explore new opportunities for collaboration between companies, and open up market niches by jointly developing innovative initiatives.

Bio Galicia Summit will also include BioInvestorsDay, a private meeting point for incubated biotech companies to present their projects to various prominent agents from the investment community interested in collaborating in the development of high-impact business projects, which will take place on 3 March from 12:00 to 14:00. During the day, a round table will be held to listen to the opinions of several experts in the sector on the megatrends of investment in biotechnologies in the health and food sector.

During the international biotech meeting, companies such as Zendal, a Galician company of reference in health biotechnology, and Estrella Galicia, an innovative company in biotechnology applied to agri-food, will be present. There will also be entities that are committed to digitalisation such as DATAlife, Galacteum, AMSlab and Gradiant, and companies that will deal with trends in the application of biotechnology such as Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), from the field of agriculture, and Merck KGaA, from the field of health.

The event will also welcome the venture capital companies Semola Tech Ventures, Unirisco, CRB Inverbio and UCB ventures.
