CELTALGA EXTRACT, S.L.
Obtaining extracts of algae from Galicia, with antioxidant and enzyme inhibitor activity, for the food and cosmetic sector.

Celtalga Extract is a Spin-Off of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), promoted by researchers from the Department of Chemical Engineering of the USC, from the research line obtaining and purifying Bioactive Extracts with antioxidant and enzyme inhibiting activity that attack the extracellular matrix of the skin.

The seaweed ingredients, registered in a USC patent, are obtained through a process also patented with the assistance of ultrasound, in which water is used as a solvent. Both the harvesting of algae and the production of extracts, and the formulation of cosmetic products, are based on sustainability policies and the inclusion of ingredients of natural origin.

Celtalga proposes innovative aqueous extracts of algae with application to the cosmetic and nutraceutical sector. Specifically, it markets skin care products under the “Sálvora” brand, exposing the properties of its main ingredient, the extracts of brown algae from Galicia, and an anti-chafing product under the “Celtalga” brand.
